The BigBand MSP-based advertising solution enables service providers to maximize advertising revenues while minimizing operational costs. The solution includes the preparation and transcoding of ad assets, ad splicing into linear TV streams, event reporting to traffic and billing systems, and management using BigBand's Video Management System software. Furthermore, the solution operates completely within the digital domain and seamlessly splices ads into streams encrypted for a variety of network environments. This reduces the cost and complexity associated with ad insertion since decrypting, splicing, and re-encrypting are no longer required.
Linear and Zoned Advertising
BigBand's industry leading MSP powers the delivery of traditional zoned and targeted ads to monetize multi-screen services – ensuring the support of today's critical revenue streams while providing a migration path from traditional zoned-based advertising to greater addressability, interactivity, and measurability.
A versatile digital ad delivery platform, the BigBand MSP provides the ability to forward ads to large metro zones and smaller ZIP+4 areas, or a hybrid of the two. Advertisements can be dynamically inserted into SD, HD, or PIP MPEG-2 or MPEG 4/H.264 streams.
Addressable Advertising
Based on the geographic or demographic information of a subscriber, video service providers can deliver targeted ads into linear TV by zone or on per-STB basis without requiring complex client operations in the STBs. As a result, advertisers benefit from more effective ad campaigns with individualized messaging and greater relevance. The network operator benefits from the monitoring, tracking and reporting fulfillment information for feedback. This ability will contribute to new revenue streams and transform TV advertising distribution from traditional broadcast models towards more personalized delivery.
Traditional and Emerging Ad Selection
Supporting both traditional Ad Server architectures using SCTE30/35, and new techniques such as SCTE130 and EBIF, the BigBand MSP offers a smooth migration path for operators.
